The hotel is very well located in the very centre of Calais in walking distance of some very good restaurants, the best being Le Chanel. It is modern feeling with quite a young vibe. Although there were people of all ages staying there. The front desk wenre helpful and welcoming. We were on the third floor and the lift is good and very quiet. In fact, both our room and our friend's room were very quiet-well sound proofed. Breakfast was a revelation with a very friendly female staff member on duty for the first two mornings. There is an excellent buffet style breakfast with very good choice-excellent cheeses for example and fresh orange juice. It was a very reasonable place to stay. Calais is often overlooked but has worked really hard to create a busy identity and is an easy place to spend a few days. Free little bus in the town and easy access to the huge hypermarket-in summer the beaches are good. We always visit the Cheese and Wine shop which is linked to the Channel restaurant--very good wines and cheeses.

We booked a family room, I loved that this comprised of two rooms without an adjoining door, which gave everyone a bit of space. The beds were comfy and the room had a spacious bathroom. We prebooked a parking space around the back and in was in a secure gated compound with access to the hotel. We had breakfast included and this was plentiful, with lots of choice for everyone. We had full stomachs when we checked out. The hotel is in a great location next to a bakery and close to several restaurants and bars. It is also close to the beach too. We stayed there as were travelling on the tunnel the next day, it is only 20mins to the tunnel.

Marie

Very convenient with very secure parking. Highly recommended if travelling with bikes etc. breakfast was great and the freshly squeezed orange machine a great touch. Location was perfect and 10 mins from the tunnel. Hotel was lovely and nice and modern. Bar was good and plenty of free games to keep the kids busy all evening. Loads of bars and eateries nearby. Good arts scene in Calais and would stay a little longer in future as was a pleasant surprise.

This was my third stay at Ibis Calais, I strongly recommend booking a double room - it was very spacious and I had a room overlooking a quiet street. There is a bath which I saw as a blessing after two months of backpacking. It is close to local bars and restaurants and it has a 24 hour reception, so if you're like me and stay out till 5am you'll be fine. The free breakfast was a lovely touch and the smell of freshly baked goods was beautiful. 10/10

Daniel

Friendly staff who speak English. Quick and easy check in/check out. Location in the City Centre so everything is close by. Bus from the Port stops 1 min walk from Hotel, so easy to get to and from. Hotel also has a second building which is quiet and away from the main street. Good buffet breakfast selection which appeared to be topped up regularly.
